Greater Victoria
What is the regional program?
The Regional Program is a key initiative of Wine Australia, focused on actively encouraging and supporting research and innovation in the Australian wine sector.
The aim of the program is simple: To help grape growers and winemakers adopt new research findings, tools and innovations that improve performance, resilience and long-term competitiveness.
Activity in the Greater Victorian program aims to -
- Translate research into practical application
- Encourage adoption of innovation
- Strengthen vineyard and winery decision-making
- Support climate resilience and sustainability
- Improve business performance at a regional level
The Greater Victoria program is for all Wine Victoria members who grow and make wine outside of the Murray Valley. Producers in the Murray Valley are supported by Murray Valley Winegrowers Association. Rest assured both organisations work closely together to give Victorian members a broad range of activities for participation.
Our Regional Priorities
At Wine Victoria we are currently focus on the following priority areas as part of the Greater Victorian Regional Program to address sustainability and innovation outcomes as part of the Victorian Wine Strategy.
Field Days
The Annual Field Days are a key part of the Greater Victoria Regional Program.
Each year we discuss vineyard health through the lens of biosecurity, emerging technologies, sustainable practice, data and insights.
On the day, members hear from expert presentations, observe in-field demonstrations and participate in peer-to-peer discussion, gaining practical, regionally relevant knowledge to apply in their own businesses.
The Regional Program is open to Wine Victoria members and the broader Victorian wine community.
