Victorian Wine Industry Strategic Plan
Last week, Wine Victoria Chair Dan Sims and CEO Stephanie Duboudin joined the Victorian Wine Industry Strategic Plan steering committee and government representatives from Agriculture Victoria, Economic Development, Tourism Victoria, Global Victoria, and Sustainability Victoria at the Victorian wine strategy co-design workshop, managed by Atticus Now.
The group reviewed all the insights and strategic themes from the extensive stakeholder consultation, which included 50 individual interviews, eight regional forums, and online submissions. Together, they worked to create tangible actions that can lead to significant change in the industry during a time of constant environmental, political, economic, and social shifts.

Victorian Wine Export Program

EOI Open: South East & North Asia Market Entry Program
Export Incite has been appointed to deliver a Southeast and Northeast Asia Market Entry Program across Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, and Japan. The Export Incite team hosted a market insights webinar to help wineries understand the unique nuances of each market. Commencing late 2024 and continuing throughout 2025, exporters will be invited to apply to participate in a Market Entry Program. Wine Victoria will offer a 50% subsidy to participating wineries. EOI closes October 11, 2024.
EOI Open: China Market Entry & Expansion Program
Wine Victoria has appointed Nimbility Asia to deliver the China Market Entry and Expansion program. On the 12th of September, Nimbility hosted a webinar providing valuable insights and intelligence into the Chinese market and strategies for market entry and expansion. Commencing late 2024 and continuing throughout 2025, the Nimbility team will be assisting wineries with route-to-market strategies through importer business matching events.

China Market Webinar Series: Navigating eCommerce & Social Media in China

Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Inbound, September 2024
Last week we hosted 5 KOL (key opinion leaders) wine experts from China. They met with wineries and toured 6 regions and tasted wines from over 120 producers on their trip.
Wine Victoria x Jimmy’s BBQ Club on the Southbank of the Thames
Earlier this month with the support of Global Victoria, we hosted a fantastic event at Jimmy’s BBQ Club on the Southbank of the Thames. Led by renowned wine industry educator, communicator, and broadcaster Joe Wadsack, the event showcased Victorian wines to key trade and influencers in the UK market.

Viticulture
Registrations open: AWRI Advanced Viticulture Course in Victoria
The AWRI is hosting an Advanced Viticulture Course in October 2024 in Victoria, and registrations are now open! This intensive four-day course will cover the latest techniques and technologies in viticulture. Participants will travel in small groups across several Victorian regions to visit sites and meet practitioners who are at the cutting-edge of Australian viticulture.
Capability Building
2024 Australian Women in Wine National Symposium in Hobart
The one-day symposium will unite women from across the wine industry for a day of learning, connection, and empowerment. Experts will share their insights and experiences on what it truly means to invest in women. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge to navigate their careers and enhance their businesses. The theme of the day is "Investing in Women for the Betterment of Australian Wine."

Grants
Wine Tourism & Cellar Door Grants
Round 6 of the Wine Tourism and Cellar Door Grants is now open. The grant aims to support wine and cider producers who enhance value by attracting visitors to wine regions and promoting wine tourism.

Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) Program
EMDG program supports Australian SMEs in their export efforts. The grants help fund marketing and promotional activities that boost exports and deliver broader benefits to Australia. EMDG provides support for SMEs ready to export, those expanding within existing markets or entering new ones, and representative bodies.
