Meet the Next Crop Class of 2025

The 2025 Next Crop Victoria cohort features an incredible group of emerging leaders from the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Gippsland. Next Crop is a regionally based program that was previously run in Central and Western Victoria in 2022. Delivered in partnership with Wine Australia, the program commences on 19 June.

Regional Roundtable & One Sector Plan Meeting


On May 19th, we hosted a great day with over 50 representatives from Victorian regional associations and producers at TWE. The day started with a regional association roundtable focused on tourism and events, followed by a progress update from Wine Australia CEO Martin Cole, Australian Grape and Wine CEO Lee McLean, Wine Victoria CEO Stephanie Duboudin, and Chair Dan Sims. The insights shared throughout the day were really important, and it was such a great opportunity for the industry to catch up.

2025 Field Days – Smart Strategies for Sustainable Profits, Yarra Valley & King Valley

We recently hosted field days for over 140 industry representatives at Dominique Portet on June 4 and Brown Brothers on June 5. These field days focused on translating innovation into practical outcomes for growers, particularly during challenging times when every decision counts.

The theme for the day was "Smart Strategies for Sustainable Profits." The program featured demonstrations and talks from Dr. David Jordan, Nuffield Scholar Richard Leask, and Ben Thomson from Bests, who discussed the UVC trial with Agri Automation and Wine Australia. There were also drone demonstrations covering imaging and spraying techniques.

27 Victorian Wineries at Vinexpo Singapore 

With the support of Global Victoria, all participating Victorian wineries received a subsidy through the Wine Victoria export program to attend Vinexpo this year. Vinexpo is the premier event for wine and spirits professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, Wine Victoria hosted an evening trade event at RVLT Wine Bar to showcase Victorian wines and support trade opportunities.

Capability Building

Young Farmer Upskill and Invest Scholarship

The Young Farmers Upskill and Invest Scholarship is an opportunity to invest in you and your career. Up to $10,000 is available per scholarship:

  • up to $5000 towards study
  • up to $5000 to invest in putting new skills into practice, with professional development, business planning or other on-farm activities.

The scholarship program is designed to be flexible and to fit with the demands and ambitions of young farmers and farm workers.

Since the start of the program in 2015, the Minister for Agriculture has awarded scholarships to 133 young farmers. Each year, 12 to 14 schol May 2025.
