Update from the Executive Officer - Rachael Sweeney

Welcome to 2014, a year which promises to be a busy one for Wine Victoria and its members.

A key part of the first quarter of 2014 will be to seek your views on the key issues impacting our industry including the Wine Equalisation Tax (WET), trade, environment, tourism and wine and health.

We will begin this process with the key areas of tourism and trade.

As part of the consultation process Wine Victoria will also be running member and stakeholders workshops to develop and identify industry priorities in the areas of trade and tourism. We are seeking interested parties and industry experts to participate in these workshops to be held in Mid-late March.

Please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you would like to attend or you are aware of someone who should receive an invitation.

Communication will also remain high on the agenda. I will also be endeavouring to visit each region throughout the year to hear your views on what you think we should be doing to support the industry. I have requested your regional association meeting dates via your Wine Victoria Regional Council representatives and look forward to scheduling in dates with all of you.

Good luck with vintage, may the gods and the weather be with you.
