As part of the Labor Government's independent review of regional development, a team of regional leaders from across Victoria has been assembled to identify key priorities for the development of regional Victoria.
Mr Ross Brown, executive Director of Brown Brothers, and a Wine Victoria Board member, has been selected to join the advisory board.
Minister for Regional Development, The Hon. Jaala Pulford says the review will focus on best means to drive jobs, investment and growth for regional Victoria.
The board will consult widely with regional stakeholders, clients and communities to identify key priorities for each region and the major economic, social and demographic issues facing regional Victoria.
Key drivers for economic growth will also be examined. These include transport, infrastructure and planning, innovation and industry policy, trade and investment facilitation and education and trading.
The committee will be chaired by former Victorian Premier and Regional Development Minister, John Brumby.
Minister Pulford says, "Led by the architect of Regional Development Victoria, John Brumby, and supported by some of our region's brightest and most experienced leaders, the review will maximize jobs and growth in regional Victoria."
The board will deliver its final report mid-May.
