Wine Victoria Names New Chair

Wine Victoria Names New Chair - Damien Sheehan Viticulturist, Damien Sheehan, has been named the new Chair of Wine Victoria (WV) at the industry association's 2013 Annual General Meeting. Damien is currently the General Manager at Mount Langi Ghiran, a winery located in the Grampians region. He is also the current Chair of the Victorian Viticulture Biosecurity Committee. Wine Industry Considers Profitable Future Wine Victoria (WV) today met with Winemakers' Federation of Australia (WFA) and industry leaders in Melbourne to consider the future of Victoria's wine industry. According to a report recently released by the WFA, this iconic regional industry is being battered by the perfect storm of a high Australian dollar, falling export demand, oversupply of product and growing retailer power. WV Chair, Stephen Strachan said that these issues were real and hitting the Victorian wine industry hard.
