Food Source Victoria: Food Source Growth Grants

Food Source Growth Grants enable agri-food alliances and value chain partnerships based in regional Victoria to implement the improvements recommended in their Growth Plans, or an equivalent pre-existing export-focused business plan, to grow exports and create jobs.

This grant supports a diverse range of activities to meet identified needs such as:
• Developing and implementing training solutions to build business, export and entrepreneurial skills with TAFE and university sector
• Extensive consumer market research
• Product and/or process innovation initiatives to capture value-adding or differentiation opportunities
• Developing marketing programs and strategies
• Targeting outbound and inbound missions
• Freight and logistics initiatives that enable efficient transportation of products to market.

Eligibility
Applications are open to private and public companies, marketing cooperatives and not for profit organisations. Further eligibility guidelines can be found here.here.

Funding available and Co-contributions
Food Source Planning Grant funding will be provided on a co-contribution basis, with applicants contributing at least half of the total project costs (i.e1:1 funding ratio).

The total funding is uncapped, however applications need to demonstrate value for money and financial viability.

Application process
Applicants are required to succinctly describe their project, objectives, outcomes and infrastructure requirements with relevant supporting documentation.

• Breadth of impact
• Demonstrated project need, feasibility and delivery
• Financial viability
• Maximising value to the state.

Food Source Victoria: Food Source Planning Grants

Food Source Planning Grants enable agri-food alliances and value chain partnerships based in Regional Victoria to access independent, skilled business advisors to support the development of Growth Plans that identify clear actions.

Grant recipients will receive:
• Analysis of business and export strategy, domestic and international industry standing and market position
• Assessment of business performance
• Consultation and practical recommendations.

Eligibility
Applications are open to private and public companies, marketing cooperatives and not for profit organisations. Further eligibility guidelines can be found here.here.

Funding available and Co-contributions
Food Source Planning Grant funding will be provided on a co-contribution basis, with applicants contributing at least one third of the total project cost (ie. 2:1 funding ratio).

Regional Jobs Fund: Innovation and Productivity

The purpose of the Regional Jobs Fund is to support job creation and retain existing jobs. It is targeted at assisting regional businesses grow their workforce, expand markets and create jobs of the future. The Innovation and Productivity program aims to improve regional industry and business productivity to ensure the long-term sustainability of employment and business growth.

The Program includes:
• Funding to enable the adoption of new technology and innovation processes
• Support the introduction of equipment that drives more efficient use of assets and greater supply chain integration.

Eligibility
Food and Fibre sectors are encouraged to apply.
Key areas include:
• Integration of new technology and/or processes designed to improve productivity and competitiveness
• Specific Infrastructure, plant or equipment that improves the efficiency and competitiveness of regional businesses
• Common infrastructure projects
• Industry clusters/networks to strengthened regional supply chains
• Supporting investment in new technologies and processes to improve productivity.

Application process
Applicants are required to demonstrate the project's ability to address the criteria such as how the project will:
• Improve potential growth and productivity of a regional business
• Involve the application of innovative ideas or technology to increase productivity
• Introduce new technology or skills to benefit the region
• Improve supply chain efficiencies and linkages
• Enhance the effectiveness of existing regional industry clusters/networks.

Regional Jobs Fund: Investment Attraction

The purpose of the Regional Jobs Fund is to support job creation and retain existing jobs. It is targeted at assisting regional businesses grow their workforce, expand markets and create jobs of the future. The Investment Attraction program aims to improve grow existing or attract new businesses and industries to regional Victoria.

The Program supports activities that enable the realisation of an identified business growth opportunity such as footloose investment attraction, investment in facilities expansion and strategic industry investment planning.

Eligibility
Food and Fibre sectors are encouraged to apply.
Key areas include:
• New investment or bringing forward investment in existing regional businesses that creates jobs
• Targeted investment assistance for businesses to relocate to regional Victoria
• Introduction of new manufacturing capability, new technology or plant modernisation that will result in business growth and job creation.
• Opportunities to grow emerging businesses or diversify existing operations.

Regional Jobs Fund: Market Access Program

The purpose of the Regional Jobs Fund is to support job creation and retain existing jobs. It is targeted at assisting regional businesses grow their workforce, expand markets and create jobs of the future. The Market Access program aims to grow regional export potential and access to new markets for business and industry groups.

The Program includes:
• Supporting investments, projects and activities to create engagement with new markets (domestically and abroad)
• Funding industry development, capacity building, strategic export planning and targeted industry development projects.

Eligibility
Food and Fibre sectors are encouraged to apply. Key areas include strategic export development planning and targeted industry cluster/network development.

Application process
Applicants are required to demonstrate the project's ability to address the criteria such as how the project will:
• Improve industry understanding of a new market opportunity
• Enhance the export capabilities of regional industry cluster/networks
• Support small regional business to develop export functions.

Tourism Victoria: Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure Program

This program provides a matched dollar-for-dollar investment to develop tourism infrastructure, ensuring that the benefits of any government investment can be multiplied across the sector. Victoria has dedicated approximately $7 million from 2014/15 over four years to allocate towards projects that can contribute to the State's tourism industry.

Eligible projects
Funding are open to tourism related businesses, investors, local governments and tourism associations. All projects should create and encourage increased tourism to areas and assist in the industry meeting Tourism 2020 targets. These include the development and enhancement of:
• Environmental projects, such as public beaches, walking trails and parks
• Built projects, such as convention facilities, cultural institutions, entertainment and sporting facilities and tourist attractions
• Transport projects, including roads, rail networks, ports and airports
• Enabling projects that improve tourism networks and programs to improve industry capability and capacity.

Funding is limited to $250,000 - $750,000 with at least equal funding from another source. Projects of greater or lesser value will be considered subject to merit.
